The resort in the full sense, a property you could stay inside for a week without leaving, is a southern coast phenomenon here and Costa Adeje is where the biggest and newest of them are. Several pools, a spa, four or five restaurants, a kids' club and direct beach access is the standard specification.

All inclusive is common and worth thinking about rather than assuming: the island's eating is one of the better reasons to visit it, and a board basis that keeps you on site removes that. What a resort does buy is reliability in the winter months, when the south is the part of the island where the sun is genuinely dependable.
