Tenerife Hotels

The island's hotel stock is heavily weighted to the south coast, where the large four and five star properties run in an almost unbroken line from Los Cristianos through Playa de las Americas to Costa Adeje. Most sell half board or all inclusive, most have several pools, and the newer and more expensive end is concentrated at the Costa Adeje end of that line.

The north is a different trade: smaller hotels, more of them independent, and a group of grand old properties in Puerto de la Cruz that have been taking visitors since the nineteenth century. Santa Cruz and La Laguna have business and city hotels that are noticeably cheaper and closer to the island's own life.
