Tenerife Shopping centres

The island has a handful of full-size shopping centres and they do a specific job for a visitor. The southern coast has several attached to or beside the resort strips, mixing international chains with restaurants, cinemas and the electronics and perfume shops where the low local tax rate is most obvious.

Santa Cruz has the biggest and the most Spanish of them, on the edge of the city, which is where residents actually shop. All of them are air conditioned and all of them are the standard answer to a wet afternoon in the north or a day when the wind at El Medano has made the beach unpleasant. Most open through the middle of the day.
