Tenerife Italian

Italian food on Tenerife is not a resort convenience. The island has a substantial settled Italian community, particularly around Costa Adeje and Los Cristianos, and a good share of the kitchens are run by people cooking their own regional food rather than a generic menu.

What that means in practice is handmade pasta, proper wood ovens, imported cured meats and wine lists that go well beyond the obvious. The southern strip carries most of it, with a smaller cluster in Puerto de la Cruz and Santa Cruz. Prices sit below the equivalent in Italy for the same cooking, and the better rooms fill early in the evening at the busy end of the season.
