Pizza is everyday food on this island rather than a night out, and the ovens reflect that. The southern resorts carry the highest density, with places open past midnight and delivering across the strip. The Italian community means a fair number of them are Neapolitan in style, with a soft base and a short bake, rather than the crisp northern European version.

The northern towns have their own quieter version of the same trade, cheaper and busier with families. Almost everywhere does a takeaway box at the counter without a wait, which is worth knowing if you are in an apartment rather than a hotel.
