Tenerife Golf

Golf is a real reason people come to this island rather than an amenity attached to hotels. The courses are in play every month of the year, which is the point: the southern coast is dry and warm through the northern winter, when courses at home are shut or waterlogged.

Most of them sit within twenty minutes of the southern airport, on the coastal strip between Golf del Sur and Costa Adeje, and several are attached to hotels that sell golf packages. They range from flat, forgiving resort layouts to a clifftop course in the west with serious elevation change. Buggies are usual given the terrain and the heat, and tee times book up through the winter.
