Tenerife Bars
Bars in Tenerife
The bar does most of the work on this island. In the southern resorts that means terraces open from the middle of the day, screens showing whatever is on, and a crowd that turns over with the flights. Prices are low by northern European standards and most places serve food all evening.
In Santa Cruz, La Laguna and the northern towns it means something closer to a Spanish bar: small, busy from ten, a short list of beer, wine and rum, and free or cheap food alongside. Canarian rum is the drink to try, made in the archipelago and usually served with honey or in a ron miel.
